SCI Fi Rock #1

Lyrics by Howard Anshell

I feel the cosmic voice
Deep inside my bones:
I’m the one who makes the choice,
Since I’m the one who’s going! I feel my
Joints start to loosen,
My head begins to swell–
I’m feeling a million things,
But now I can tell!
Looking below I can see the back of my head
But if that’s me down there
Can I be up here instead?
My head is spinning around
Looking in the glass
Could it be that this day has
Already been the last?
The face in the mirror
Appears my double
I wonder does he now think
That he’s in trouble?
His head is below me, too.
Who can I trust?
Is he flying around here, too,
Or am I simply us?
There’s a choice to make:
Which is the real?
I guess I might just be in for another
Spin of the wheel! So I’m going
Down,
Back to my cells–
I’m going to need a story to tell!
There’s places I have to go
Things I need to say–
Tell the world that I love it true,
But I’ve got to leave some day …
I have traveled
Deep within the well.
I have heard there’s a good about and I know
I want to help!
Deep beneath the moaning soil,
Where once great cities stood,
There, I’m told, the fight goes on
Between the bad and the good.
Deep beneath the pyramids
There lies another race…
Were the Incan temples
Built by men from outer space?
Help me read the messages
Written on the stones;
If I can, I’ll lend a hand,
Vibrate to the tone.
I remember traveling through the stars,
Landing in the water and calling it ours.
I remember endless days,
Till the sun’s death-dealing rays
Broke right through the atmospheres,
Bringing with them
Aging years.
We climbed through caves
But few were saved
And those that stayed just weren’t the same
They turned to war, and used machines
To sour human thoughts and dreams!
Now there is no more time to wait;
No time left to hesitate –
We cannot win, we cannot lose;
All that we can do is
Choose.
As I look around,
This could be home—
There is a pattern through this world, and
I’ve got to find it
Alone!
