My son has been taking weekly sessions from Howard for the past 3 months. He really enjoys. Howard teaches him how to read sheet music and to play. He’s very flexible and always friendly. I started playing at age 14, built up a lot of bad habits and wanted to quit guitar. I went to Howard as a last ditch effort to see what I was doing wrong. Since September 2015, when i started taking lessons with Howard, I have seen MAJOR improvements in my technique alone. I consider myself between an intermediate and advanced guitarist now that i have worked with Howard. And that’s just from a technique perspective.
You will find no one in the area at his rates, with his experience, and with his passion for teaching.
If you are a beginner looking to start taking lesson, Howard is your man.
If you are experienced and want to learn more about theory and technique (like me), Howard is your man.
If you need bass, Howard teaches that as well.
Overall, you will not find a more flexible, friendly, and knowledge instructor anywhere in Renton.

Howard was my guitar teacher in San Diego. He was my first guitar teacher. Had him all through high school. He prepared me for college where I received my BA in Guitar Performance and Masters in Music Composition from UC Santa Cruz.
